Elizabeth Liz Alice Brindle, 86, of Marshalltown, died Friday, September 24, 2010, at home.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m.Monday, September 27, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Elizabeth and her family.Elizabeth Alice Binkley was born on February 27, 1924, to Thomas Emanuel and Nellie Nel (Husebeck) Binkley.Liz received her education in the Marshalltown School District, graduating in 1941.On May 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to James Edward Brindle in Marshall County.She had lived in the Marshall County area her entire life. She had worked at Evangelical Hospital as a seamstress for many years. First and foremost she was a great mom; she also enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, crocheting and crossword puzzles.Left to cherish Elizabeths memory are her children: Steven (Bette) Brindle of South Bend, Indiana, Doug (Cheryl) Brindle of Princeton, Minnesota and Vicki Brindle of Gilman; grandchildren: Eric Brindle, Rhonda Miller, Craig Brindle, Andy Brindle, Cindra Keeny, Shawn Meeker and Misty Roelsgard; along with several great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Florence Dagget of Marshalltown.In death, Elizabeth rejoins her parents, Thomas and Nellie Binkley; her husband James in 1978; and her siblings: Raymond, Jennings and Clifford Binkley and Jessie Brown.
