UDPATED: Elizabeth “Betty” Rhiner, 83, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on the morning of Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Accura Healthcare in Marshalltown. Services for Betty will be held on Monday. November 23, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish: St. Mary Catholic Church beginning at 10:30 a.m. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the beginning of the services. Elizabeth Lulu Rhiner was born October 11, 1937 to parents Lester and Lucille (Noland) Fisher in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was one of 7 children. She grew up and attended school in Marshalltown. Following her graduation, she continued her education at Buena Vista University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 1957, Betty was united in marriage to her husband Grant Rhiner. The two were blessed with eight children whom they raised together. They moved to California for a period of time where Grant was stationed and Betty came back to Marshalltown to call home to once again. Betty was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parrish and the CCW group. In her free time, she enjoyed reading her bible, going to church, tending to her gardens, cooking from scratch, traveling with her children and attending family gatherings. She was a straight forward woman with a sweet and compassionate manner. She loved to stand up for her faith. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her children Julie (Lorenzo) Randolph, Cynthia Chase, Christopher (Tammy) Rhiner and Kathyerine Snider; her grandchildren, Michael Rhiner, Eric Hamilton, Robert Chase, Collette Thomas, Brittany Kincheloe, Maria Rombeau, Josh Rhiner, Nick Eipperle, Monica Eipperle, Amanda Snider and Kaitlyn Snider; 12 great-grandchildren and her sisters Ann McDonnell and Rita Johnson. Among many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Lucille Fisher; her children Mary Dominguez, Jeff Rhiner and Theresa Rhiner and her siblings Dorothy, Lorraine, Joe and Margaret.
