Elizabeth Betty Weeden, 74, of Marshalltown died Sunday May 2nd, 2010 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her death came peacefully, with her loving family by her side. A celebration of Bettys life will be held at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, May 6th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Betty Arlene Weeden was born on June 18th, 1935 at home in Timber Creek Township to parents John and Elizabeth (Shank) Miller. Betty graduated from Marshalltown High School. On September 18th, 1960 Betty was united in marriage to Russell Buck Weeden in Kansas City, MO. The couple made their home in Marshalltown. Betty was a long-time legal secretary and worked many years at Cartwright-Druker-Ryden, retiring in 2003. Betty was a woman of great strength and many talents. She loved to garden, her life at home on the farm and cherished her family. Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew and continue to love her, including her beloved husband Russell Buck her children: Jeff (Shari) Weeden of Cleveland, OH, Kristy (Billy Ray) Inman of Overland Park, KS, Scott (Becky) Weeden of Surprise, AZ, Julie (John) Jindrich of Muscatine, Eric (Nickie) Weeden of Marshalltown, Laura (David) Feeback of Marshalltown, Brant Weeden of Colorado Springs, CO, and Brett (Chantel) Weeden of Marshalltown; her grandchildren: Jacob Weeden, Jamie Jo Wahlert, Christopher Inman, Joel Inman, Elizabeth Jindrich, Johnnie Jindrich, Paul Jindrich, Caleb Janssen, Marshal Weeden, Travis Feeback, Storm Wiseman, and Russell Tyne Weeden; her great-grandchildren: Beau and Lilee Wahlert; her brother Edward J. Miller and sister Mary Lou Speas; her special friend Buddy several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. In death, Betty has rejoined her parents and her brother John Miller.
