Elizabeth Beth Wilson, 71, of Marshalltown, entered into eternal life Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 27, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, at the First Congregational Church in Marshalltown. Burial will follow services at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorial contributions may be directed to the BR Miller Middle School Beth Wilson Crisis Fund.Beth was born September 29, 1941 in Eldora, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Eloise (Scott) Lyon. She was raised and educated in Union, Iowa. Beth graduated from the Union-Whitten High School in 1959 and went on to attend Ellsworth Community College. She was employed by the Hardin County Savings Bank and Dodger Implements. She then attended the Marshalltown College of Hairstyling. Following graduation she worked at Claudias in Conrad before opening her own salon in Union. She later moved to Marshalltown, where she worked at Spurgeons Hair Salon and then at Marlas for many years. She was later employed by The Animal Clinic The Vet, Marshalltown Medical Clinic and McFarland Clinic. Beth was a longtime member of the Union Community Church, where she was one of the organists. Most recently she was a member of the First Congregational Church in Marshalltown. Beth enjoyed camping, reading, bird watching, playing the piano and organ, and singing. Beth is survived by her husband Harry Wilson of Marshalltown, her daughters; Christy (Jeff) Hibbs of Albion and Carla (Dan Brekke) Gunderson of Eldora; her grandchildren; John Ortega, Samantha Ortega and Hannah Hibbs, her great-grandson; Taylor Brekke, her foster brother Marlyn (Mary) Peet of Colorado, her niece Cindy (Don) Schoenecke and her nephew Dean (Rose) Lloyd. In her passing, Beth has been reunited with her parents; Kenneth and Eloise; her step-mother Evelyn Lyon, her sister, Rosemary Lloyd, and her grandchildren; Tyler, Kate and David Hibbs.
