Ella Kate Pinney

Ella Kate Pinney, 92, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011.Graveside funeral services will be held at Bethel Grove Cemetery near Liscomb, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011. Visitation will be held at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown from 10:00 until service time at the cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ella and her family. Phone 641-844-1234.Ella Kate Spaid was born on July 17, 1918, in Liscomb, Iowa; she was the daughter of Charles and Ada Spaid. Ella was educated in the area of her birth. In 1937 she was united in marriage to Albert Pinney and they both resided in Marshalltown. Ella enjoyed being a housewife, enjoyed raising her children and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed garage sales, and antiques, loved the birds and country western music.Left to cherish her memory are her children: Phyllis Gregory of New Braunfels, Texas, Donna Curry of Bemidji, Minnesota, Patricia (Lee) Cornwell of Marshalltown, and Donald Pinney of Marshalltown, 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.Ella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, her son Ronald, her infant grandsons Steven, Stanley, Stewart, and her granddaughter Angie.
