Ellen Jones

Ellen Rowe Jones, 64, of Clemons, Iowa passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014, at home under the care of the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in State Center, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home. Ellen Rowe was born on September 29, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa; she was the daughter of E. Keith and Edna Rohwer Rowe. Ellen grew up in Beaman and graduated from the Marshalltown school district in 1967. On June 10, 1977, Ellen was united in marriage to Paul Jones in Green Mountain. Ellen worked as a Quality Control Engineer for InterFace Sealing Solutions; retiring in 2012. Ellen was also a volunteer at the Iowa River Hospice Home. In 2005, she was awarded the Iowa Hospice Organization Volunteer of the Year representing the Iowa River Hospice. Ellen enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, cooking and shopping with her friends. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years; Paul. Children: Dave (Jennifer) Vawter of State Center, Aaron (Van) Vawter of Marshalltown, Jared (Kristine Hennings) Jones of Des Moines and Karin (Daniel) Bergum of Cody, Wyoming. Grandchildren: Madeline, Jake, Luke, Zach, Alexandra, Savannah, Ellen and Colter and sisters Emily Northam of Gladbrook and Elaine Mount of Mankato, Minnesota. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents.
