Elmer (Mac) McInroy, 91, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Tuesday morning, May 7, 2013 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.Elmer McInroy was born on November 2, 1921 in Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Murney and Gladys McInroy. Mac grew up in Bonarlaw, Canada on a dairy farm. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in biochemistry. Mac was united in marriage to Freida Mae McLaren on July 6, 1946 in Ontario. Mac and Freida moved to Bergen, New Jersey where he worked for Gaines Foods. In 1950 he and Freida moved to Kankakee. Mac and Freida then moved to Des Moines where he worked for Foxbilt Feeds. In 1956, they moved to Marshalltown where he worked for Arbie Feeds, where he was Vice President. Mac was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Zag Ga Zig Shrine, Elmwood Country Club and St Pauls Episcopal Church. Mac enjoyed reading, yard work, bridge and geneology.Mac is survived by his wife of 67 years Freida; one daughter: Elisa (Jim) Cartier of Portsmouth, Virginia; two sons: Daniel (Carroll) McInroy of Marshalltown, Iowa and Andrew (Mary) McInroy of Marion, Iowa; Grandchildren: John (Sara) Cartier, Israel (Rebecca) Cartier, Delia (James) Jones, Ian (Stuart) McInroy, Emily(Brent) McInroy; Great-grandchildren: Mac Cartier, Lydia Jones, Miriam Jones, Evangeline Jones, Juliette Jones, Ridley Brandmayr, Ross Brandmayr and his cat, Sugi.Mac was preceded in death by one grand daughter: Mary Theresa Cartier age one and one half, his brother, Ward and his sister, Mary (Glenn) Morton.The family will be holding a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at St Pauls Episcopal Church in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Pauls Episcopal Church.Honorary Pall Bearers are Bill Walters, Steve Radosevich, Jim Davison, Bob Stewart and Bill Bestman.
