Erin Stephanie Jacobson

Erin S. Jacobson, age 43, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on the evening of May 18, 2025.

Funeral Services for Erin will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Berry officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Stavanger Cemetery following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Erin’s name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon. Erin Stephanie Jacobson was born February 8, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was the daughter of Kent and Penny (Adkins) Jacobson. Erin spent her early years until middle school in Las Vegas before her family had relocated to Kansas City. She was a graduate from Park Hill High School in 2001. She attended some further education in graphic design.

Erin later moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in 2017 and she stepped into the role of being a caregiver for her mother within her final years of life. She was always remembered for having an eclectic taste in her hobbies. She was a big animal lover and had a particular fondness for cats. She was also known to be kind to everyone but always had a sardonic wit to her. Despite any medical complications from an early age, she was resilient as she navigated through the many health hoops she had. In her free time, Erin enjoyed reading George Orwell, following anything within the British Royal Family, watching The Simpsons, and spending as much time possible with her family.

Erin is survived by her sister Melanie Novick (Goshon); her niece and nephew, Jacob Maxwell Novick and Edith Rhyne Novick; her uncle, Steve (Ginger) Jacobson; alongside many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kent and Penny Jacobson; her grandparents, Robert and Mary Jacobson and Max and Marjorie Adkins.
