Esther Dutton (Mrs. Gib) Kester, 74, of Clemons, died Thursday evening, June 3, at the Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor David Lewis of the Clemons Church of Christ officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Clemons Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234. Born Esther Darlene Krough on November 9, 1935, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Leslie and Alberta May (Menter) Krough. She received her education in the Green Mountain Schools and later received her CNA certificate. In 1951, she was united in marriage to Wendell Dutton. He passed away in 1988. In 1991, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Gib Kester. They made their home at Clemons. Esther was employed at the Marshall County Care Facility and then the Iowa Veterans home. She enjoyed taking care of her family and her home. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Gib, children: Wendi Deeter of rural Melbourne, Roger Dutton of State Center, Russell (Mary) Dutton of Julesburg, CO, Rick Dutton of Chariton, Iowa and Rod (Dodie) Dutton of Marshalltown and Vicki (Stan) Huntrods of Marshalltown as well as step-daughter Anita (Bruce) Levis of Marshalltown, 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, sister Mary (Jack) Carkhuff, and brothers Butch, Dennis, Ted, Carroll, Tom, Rex, Randy and PaulKrough. In death she was rejoined with her parents, husband Wendell, brothers Fred and Jim and sisters Geraldine and Connie.
