On August 21, 1948, she was united in marriage to Virgil E. Strand at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home on the Strand family farm, Sunny Knoll Farm, near Newburg. She was a member of the Newburg U Go I Go Club and the Newburg American Legion Auxiliary. Mr. and Mrs. Strand served as secretary and treasurer, respectively, of the Newburg school system.
