Ethel Rose Neuroth, 88, of Gladbrook, formerly of Haverhill, Iowa, died Monday, March 17th, while in the care of her loving family and Westbrook Acres. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 20, at Immaculate Conception Church in Haverhill with Fr. Don Zapla officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a 6:30 vigil service. Born on May 18, 1919, in Haverhill, she was the daughter of John and Theresa (Jansen) Stalzer. She attended school in Haverhill and was united in marriage to Wilbert (Bud) Neuroth on June 22, 1938. Mrs. Neuroth worked throughout her life in housekeeping at local hotels and the Iowa Veterans Home. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Monica's Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters and Study Club. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, garden flowers, her family and a strong Catholic faith. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Marvin (Donna) Neuroth, Roger Neuroth, Gary (Jan) Neuroth, Dean (Kendra) Neuroth, of Marshalltown, Cheryl Thompson, Gladbrook and Son-In-Law, Don Hayek, Tama, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also brothers, Glenn (Annabell) Stalzer, Lester (Arlene) Stalzer and sisters, Mary Helen Bates, Anna Mae (Frank)Navara, Irene (Harold) Heil and Dorothy (Chuck) Richard. In death she rejoins her parents,her husband, Bud, daughter, Janet Hayek, brother, Clarence Stalzer, and sisters,Irma Smith and Elsie Kopel.
