Eugene Farr

Eugene Farr, age 88, of Marshalltown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 17th, at his home with his beloved Lou at his side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22nd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Walden Paige officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Graceland Cemetery at Laurel. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Marshalltown Animal Rescue League. Born Eugene Arthur Farr on March 13, 1934, in Iowa City, he was the son of Vivian Olive (Clark) and Samuel Jay Farr. He attended various schools and received his diploma. He worked at businesses in Des Moines and Pella. Gene enjoyed antiquing, restoring vintage radios and looking at antique cars.

Eugene is survived by his companion of 23 years, Louwilda Benskin, daughter Terri Rote of Des Moines; Tammi (Casey) Ulrey of Newton; son Michael Farr of Lincoln, Nebraska and son Eric Farr, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Diana Skinner; sister Lorraine Farr Sherman; brothers James Farr (Rose Ann) and William (Pat) Farr.
