Gene Goodman

Proud Veteran, Eugene “Gene” Goodman, age 95, passed away on the morning of May 22, 2022 at the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown, Iowa under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A family-led memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. on his unit where he resided at the Iowa Veteran's Home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Eugene and his family. Eugene served in three separate branches of the military, which included the United States Navy, Air Force and Army. He spoke about his Army years of service during the Korean War in Company F17th Infantry. During his Army service he received the Korean service medal with one bronze service star, National defense service medal, United Nations service medal and a combat infantry badge. His most memorable part of being in the Army was traveling the world.
