Eva Cary

Eva Cary, 90, of LeGrand, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed towards the family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Eva and her family. Phone 641-844-1234. Eva Sorensen was born on April 11, 1923, in Hardin County, Iowa, to Peter and Clara Gertsen Sorensen. She graduated from the Union Whitten High School District in 1941. On January 24, 1944, Eva was united in marriage to Lloyd Cary in Marshalltown. Eva loved crafts, whether it was sewing, quilting or knitting. She also loved to garden and cook, but above all else, she cherished the time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Steven (Linda) Cary, and David (Karen) Cary. Brother, George (Dorothy) Sorensen. Grandchildren: Craig, Christen, Angela, Michael; nine great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Pam Morris. Eva is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lloyd; parents; son, Kevin; one brother, and four sisters.
