Evelyn Faye Klinefelter

Evelyn Faye Klinefelter, 99, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Bickford Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 also at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Grundy Center. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Evelyn and her family. Evelyn Phillips was born on February 27, 1917 at her home north of Conrad to Ralph and Ada Brown Phillips. Evelyn was united in marriage to Leonard Klinefelter on June 15, 1939 at her home. Evelyn was married for 70 years to Leonard. They had two daughters, Rae Jean and Jana Lyn. Evelyn and Leonard participated in the Airstream Rallys for 20 years and spent many summers in Estes Park, Colorado. They traveled on weekends to locations all across the United States, and also made four trips to Europe. Evelyn taught piano lessons prior to marriage and was an accomplished pianist. She was also an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters: Rae Jean (Jim) Draper of Dubuque and Jana Lyn (Alan) Miller of Loveland, Colorado. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Scott Draper of Ames, Holly Michel of Denver and Jill Schmidt of Minneapolis, plus four great-grandchildren. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Leonard, parents Ralph and Ada Phillips and a brother, Wendell Phillips. Many thanks to Bickford and Iowa River Hospice for their care and support.
