Evelyn Mullins

Evelyn Mullins, 82, of Battle Creek, passed away on April 21, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown at 11:00 a.m., with a public visitation held one hour prior to the services. Evelyn was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on March 21, 1937 to Godfrey and Gladys (Gerdes) Reschke. She was a graduate of Salem High School with the class of 1954. After school she married the love of her life, Jerry Mullins, on August 7, 1955 in Falls City, NE. They had shared 60 blessed years of marriage at the time of his death.Family was her whole life. She treasured the times with them and making cookies for get-togethers. When she was able, she loved to go to her grandchildren’s after school events, and could be found cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones any chance that she had. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark (Robin) Mullins of Malvern, IA; Steve (Laura) Mullins of Beatrice, NE; Todd (Melinda) Mullins of Garwin and Brian (Melissa) Mullins of Battle Creek, IA; as well as 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Eva Mae Smith and Marcille Felkins. In death, Evelyn rejoined her beloved Jerry, her parents Godfrey and Gladys, brother Marvin, niece Nancy Townsend, nephew David Smith and brothers-in-law Darwin Smith and Douglas Felkins.
