Evelyn Reiser, 65, of Marshalltown, Iowa and formerly of Gladbrook, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of April 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving daughter. Services for Evelyn will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Evelyn and her family. Evelyn Theresa Babinat was born October 5, 1956 to parents Edward and Rose (Shanda) Babinat in Waterloo, Iowa. She was one of seven children blessed to the pair and in her infant years resided in Clutier, Iowa. She and her family later relocated to Gladbrook and she later graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1975. On August 31,1985, Evelyn was united in marriage to David Bierbrodt-Reiser. Together they began a family of their own in Marshalltown, Iowa where they raised their two children Joseph and Elya. She worked for CIRSI in Marshalltown as an overnight caregiver for 19 years and eventually retired in November of 2020. Evelyn and David eventually separated. Evelyn was an active member within the Salvation Army and she had been active in their woman’s league. In her free time, she enjoyed watching TV, reading Christian and Amish novels, working in her flower gardens, playing cards, baking, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. She worked on many embroidery/sewing projects when her children were younger as well as made clothing and many Halloween costumes. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Reiser, Elya (Phil Kuhlman) Reiser; her grandchildren, Malakai Remeliik and Ezekiel Hawkins; her mother Rose Babinat; her siblings, Katharine (Roy McSwain) Babinat, Diana (Kevin) Sturtz, Gregory (Vicki) Babinat, Anthony (Jeannie Bilyeu) Babinat and Peter (Rita) Babinat; her special friends, Bev Rhode and Linda Propp; her nephew Chad Novotny, son of Mark; her 2 aunts and her uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Babinat; her brother, Mark Babinat, paternal and maternal grandparents, and her aunts and uncles.
