Evelyn Francis Huddle was born on May 21, 1935 to parents Raymond and Rhoda (Monzingo) Huddle in Clearmont, Missouri. She attended school in Braddyville where she was Valedictorian for the class of 1953. She furthered her education at Marshalltown Junior College.
On July 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, LaVerne Reynolds in Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home together in Marshalltown where they raised their 10 children. She worked hard for Marshall County serving as the Deputy County Recorder until she retired in 2001. LaVerne and Evelyn spent many happy years together until LaVerne’s passing in 2003. Evelyn was a dedicated and devoted member to the Marshalltown Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday School teacher for almost 40 years, and attended the Legal Secretaries Club in Marshalltown. In her younger years she loved to sew. She would make clothes for her own children as well as working on family wedding gowns. She played the piano and organ, canned food; and loved to spend time with her family. She was always thought to be the social butterfly of the family.
Those left to remember and cherish her family are her children, Carroll Reynolds, J.R. (Anita) Reynolds, Donna Phipps, Doug Reynolds, Rhoda Stangeland, Glen (Michelle) Reynolds, and Ramona (Todd) Spickert; her 27 grandchildren; her 24 great-grandchildren; alongside numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband LaVerne; her children, Annette Reynolds, Sharon (Gene) Maxwell, and Mary Gale; her grandson, Zachary Reynolds; her great-granddaughter Leia Volk; her parents, Raymond and Rhoda Huddle; her siblings, Carroll Huddle and Roger Huddle; her sons and daughters-in-law, James Phipps, Joy Reynolds, and Maureen Reynolds.
