Evelyn Waters

Evelyn Waters, 89, of the Fleur Care Center in Des Moines, died there Wednesday morning, December 26th. Evelyn was a former longtime Marshalltown resident. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Born on June 19th, 1918, she was the eldest of three children born to William Frank and Katherine Elizabeth (Briggs) Russell. Evelyn was united in marriage to Richard Rudolph Anderson, Ernest Platt and Lyle Waters, all whom preceded her in death. She was a member of the Central Christian Church and following Ernests death, managed the South Manor Apartments. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Galen (Sandy) Anderson of Mesa, AZ., and Karen Anderson of West Des Moines, her grandchildren: Christine Anderson of Puyallup, Washington, Steven Lawson of Hollywood, FL., Nicole Lawson of West Des Moines and Kim Anderson-Chandler of Lees Summit, MO, great-grandchildren Tracy, Shelby, Ashley, Chase and Coby, her sister Lorene Brink of Waterloo and brother William Charles Russell of Waterloo, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, grandparents, an aunt, and her husbands.
