Faye Marie Sims, 58, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Fayetta Marie Sims was born February 19, 1953 in Minnehaha County Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Russell and Inez Gauch and Faye was united in marriage to John Sims Sr. on January 6, 1970 in Great Falls, Montana. Fayes most recent employment was with Fisher elementary where she was a para educator. Faye enjoyed reading books and was part of Janet Evanovich book club. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafts and watching movies.She is survived by her husband: John Sims Sr.; her children: Lori (Raul) Gardea, Wendy Sims, and John Sims Jr.; three sisters: Ella (Joseph) Pagan, Donna (Charles) Lester, and Karen (Dave) Hackett; two brothers: Robert Mauseth and William Mauseth; four grandchildren: Kevin, Kristina, Kristopher Gardea and Katie Sims.She is preceded in death by her Mom, Inez Gauch; one grandson, Kyle Sims; Richard Nelson, Jean Hedberg, Norman Mauseth.Memorials may be directed to the family.
