Flossie A Wall

Flossie Alice Wall, 89, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown with her loving family by her side. Visitation for Flossie will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. The family encourages you to dress casual. Flossie Robinson was born on July 29, 1928 in Mingo, Iowa to John and Bertha Long Robinson. She was raised and educated in Rhodes and graduated from high school there in 1946. On April, 25, 1948, Flossie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lyle Wall at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Flossie had worked at Marshalltown Instruments until they closed as well as working at the hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, the Maid Rite and being a housewife. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling abroad. Flossie enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, crafts (and making extra to share), and going to Meskwaki Casino every Wednesday. She also enjoyed going as recently as this past summer to Music in the Park and loved the Price is Right and the Chicago Cubs. Flossie especially cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Flossie is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Lyle. Children: Clair (Mary Ann) Wall of Marshalltown and Kenneth (Vicky) Wall of Marshalltown. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and sister Faye Wilson of Evansdale, Iowa as well as several nieces and nephews. Flossie is preceded in death by her parents John and Bertha and siblings: Orville Robinson, Charles Robinson, Iva Evans, Marcella Buckley, Ralph Robinson, Raymond Robinson, Leo Robinson and Lois Trimble.
