Floy Flo L. Brewer, 70, of State Center, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services for Flo will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa, with Pastor Jim Bonser officiating. Burial will take place in the Albion Cemetery following services. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home West Marshall Chapel, 104 West Main Street, State Center. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Flo and her family. Floy L. Brewer was born on May 21, 1943, in Cincinnati, Iowa, the daughter of Rex and Lola (Lewis) Hall. Her family moved to Beaman, Iowa where she attended school. Flo was united in marriage to Richard Brewer on June 26, 1982, in Albion, Iowa. She was a dedicated employee of the Iowa Veterans Home and retired on June 30, 2001, after many years of faithful service. Having a passion for singing, she loved singing in little bars around town and even performed at the Iowa Veterans Home. She also loved spoiling her grandchildren, reading, and shopping for any sort of antiques. Flo is survived by her husband, Richard Brewer of 31 years; daughters: Lori (Brian) Hoover of Marshalltown; Teresa Hoskins of Norwalk; step-daughter, Lillian (Brian) Montalbano of El Paso, Texas; step-son, Rick Brewer of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren: Brittany (Brent) Boerm, Jon (Heather) Keen, Olivia Hoskins, Sable (R.J.) Geene and Brian Montalbano; 7 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Dean (Mary Jo) Hall, Don (Ellen) Hall and Gary (Joanie) Hall; two sisters: Marjorie Richeson and Elaine Turnbull; one sister-in-law: Ronnie Hall and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Dick Hall.
