Foster Mcdowell

Foster Mc Dowell (63), passed away in the care of Israel Family Hospice House of Ames, Iowa, on August 13th, 2015. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Foster and his family. Foster Mc Dowell was born on November 21st, 1951, to Richard Mc Dowell and Patricia Eddy in Norman, Oklahoma. He was raised and educated in the Boone and Rhodes area. Foster honorably served his Country in the United States Navy from 1969 until 1970. On July 16th, 1988, Elaine Branscomb and Foster were united in marriage in Albion, eventually making their home in Marshalltown. Foster was employed at the Iowa Veterans Home for 10 years. He enjoyed playing on the computer, bird watching and hotrods. Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Elaine Mc Dowell, stepson; Joel (Dee) Bucklin, stepdaughter; Leigh Ann (Brad) Karns, grandchildren; Michael Bucklin, Krysti (Kyle) Krull, Steven Bucklin, Jennifer Karns, great-grandchildren; Caden Karns, Mattox Krull, siblings; Marshall (Connie) Mc Dowell and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In death, Foster rejoins his parents; Richard and Patricia Mc Dowell, stepfather; Jim Mentor, Stepson; Alan Bucklin.
