Frances Nutter

Frances Nutter, 84, of Marshalltown, died Friday morning, March 11, at the Villa del Sol while in their loving care and that of the Iowa Hospice. Her death came peacefully at 9:15 a.m.Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at the Riverside Cemetery. Ph. 641-844-1234.Born Frances Rank on June 10, 1926, in rural Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Harry Edward and Gertrude (Shelton) Rank. She attended country schools and graduated from the Green Mountain High Schools Class of 1943.On October 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to John Nutter at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. They always made Marshalltown their home where she was employed at the Marshall County Courthouse for over 25 years. After retirement, Arizona was home for 14 years. Mrs. Nutter had been a member of the Iowa River Church of the Brethren.Frances will be fondly remembered for being a happy person who loved people and cats as well as purses and shoes. She missed her friends in Arizona after her return to Iowa. While in Arizona, she did home care.Left to cherish her memory are her son Jack (Shari) of Johnston, grandchildren Eric and Christie, great-grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, Page and Wade, her brothers Richard in Missouri and Norman in Marshalltown, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In death she rejoined her beloved husband John who died November 7, 1981, her sisters-in-law Betty Rank and Doris Rank, her sister Bev Rolston and her parents.
