Frances 'Peachy' Stalzer

Frances Mary Stalzer, 95, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Grandview Heights Nursing and Rehab. Graveside services for Fran or Peachy as she was also known will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. Memorials may be directed to the family. The family wishes to thank Grandview for their loving and compassionate care of Frances. Frances Schoborg was born on December 18, 1921 in Marshalltown to Vincent and Florence Hoffman Schoborg. On June 10, 1946, Fran was united in marriage to Leonard Stalzer in Haverhill. She had done factory work, resort cleaning and sewing, but her main occupation was working on the farm. Fran enjoyed quilting, fishing (in Minnesota at the lake) and playing cards. She will also be missed dearly by her favorite dogs, Bibi and Snooki. Fran is survived by her son, John (Char) Stalzer of Grinnell. Sisters: Rose Stalzer and Vivian Stalzer and several nieces and nephews. Fran is preceded in death by her husband Leonard, parents Vincent and Florence and siblings Mary Kopel, Rita White, Herman Schoborg and Dr. Ray Schoborg.
