Frank Dunn, 82, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, June 26, at the Iowa River Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at the Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Lothe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born on June 13, 1929, at Albion, Iowa, he was one of five children born to Walter Austin and Nancy Chase (Holt) Dunn. He graduated from the Albion High Schools Class of 1946. On October 26, 1947, he was united in marriage to Shirley Hibbs at the Albion United Methodist Church. Frank loved the landfarming it with Shirley all of his married life until they moved to Marshalltown in 2002. He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church and previously Albion United Methodist. He was a lifetime Methodist church member as well as a member of the Heart of Iowa Telephone Association, Farm Bureau, 4-H Leader and lifetime Mason. Frank enjoyed the Albion community and its well-being. He served on a committee to encourage DONCO Air Products to come to Albion. Left to cherish his memory are Shirley, his loving wife of 63 years, two children: Walter Charles Dunn of Morrisville, NC and Renae June Dunn of Parker, CO, four grandchildren: Chad (Becky) Dunn, Chris Dunn, Emily Dunn and Angela (Robert) Hickman, six great-grandchildren, his sister Gladys Shirk of Marshalltown and many nieces, nephews and friends. In death, Frank rejoined his father who died when Frank was 7 years old, his mother Nancy, brother Robert and sisters Dorothy Fiscus and Blanche Fields.
