Frank Foster

Frank Foster, 83, of Madrid, formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Frank Foster was born on November 1, 1932, in Philadelphia; he was the son of Ernie and Mary (Hollins) Foster. Franks mother passed away when he was only one year old and his father was killed in the line of duty while a Marine and so Frank was raised in an orphanage. Frank was united in marriage to Doris Jean Presnall and she passed away. Frank was then united in marriage to Betty Karns in February of 1978, at St. Marys Church in Marshalltown, Iowa where they had resided until moving to Madrid in 2013. Frank was a driver for Allied Van Lines and then worked for Marshalltown Street Department retiring after 25 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and he and Betty enjoyed dancing. But most of all he loved his family. Left to cherish his life is his wife of 37 years, Betty; Children: Janice Ulch(Dan Buschbom) of State Center, Iowa, Diana (Dennis) Schultz of Riverside, Iowa, David (Sandra) Leimbacher of Marshalltown, Iowa, Dorene (John) Angle of Boone, Iowa and Mike (Deb) Leimbacher of Whitten, Iowa, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one more on the way and one great-great-granddaughter. In death Frank rejoins his parents and his first wife, Doris Jean and great grandson Ronan.
