Frank Pointeck, 84, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Frank Pointeck was born on May 26, 1941 in New York City. He had worked at the Iowa Veterans Home, was a police officer for Tama/Toledo area and later was a security guard at Swifts. Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana from 1961 until 1965 that included two tours in Vietnam and later stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri from 1965 until 1968. He received numerous commendations, including two Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star. Frank also served in the Army National Guard as a military policeman from 1975 until 1981 and was a communications wire installer from 1981 until 1991. Frank was an avid marksmen and gun collector. He also enjoyed fishing and going for coffee with his friends.

Frank is survived by his long-time Veteran friend: Mike Lewis. He is preceded in death by good friend: Larry Kerr and his parents.
