Franklin Robert (Bob) Dunham went to spend Eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 11, 2015 following a long, well lived life. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church and burial with military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Bob is survived by his two sons Steve of Marshalltown and Jeff (Maria) in Robins, Iowa, his sister Shirley Haynes of Leawood, Kansas, four Grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Robert and Alyssa and four Great Grandchildren, Meriel, Jazlyn, Chloe and Aubrey. Bob was born on July 8, 1923 in Marshalltown, the son of Frank Dennis and Johanna Marie (Koch) Dunham. Bob was a WWII Veteran who served his country proudly in the 815 Tank Destroyers and 665th Field Artillery. Bob served 3 years, 9 months and 19 days from 1942-1945. On September 12, 1945 he married the love of his life, Betty Jean Wilson. They were married for 63 years before Betty passed away in 2009. Bob was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. He was very involved in the community where he served as Mayor Pro-Tem City Council, Visiting Nurses board, Commander Emergency Corp. and member of the Marshalltown Lodge and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and Tin Lizzies. Bob also loved to coach baseball and basketball. Bob loved to pheasant and duck hunt with family and friends and have many fond memories in the fields and duck blinds. Bob was a long time member of the DU committee. Bob worked for Kenny Cagwin at Mid States Motors and then went to work for Security Savings Bank for 28 years where he retired in 1988. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty, daughter Dianne and brother Darrell Dunham. Bob will be missed by all who knew him and loved him!
