Fred Gould

Fred Gould, 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Iowa River Hospice Home with his loving family by his side. Memorial services for Fred will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Hershberger officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed in Freds name to his family. Fred Gould was born on December 6, 1936, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Raymond D. and Gladys (Jurgensen) Gould. He was raised and educated in the Ferguson School District. Following his education, Fred enlisted into the Marine Corps, where he honorably served his Country for four years. He was united in marriage to Barbara Yantis for 34 years before her passing in 1990. Fred was then blessed to unite in marriage to Suzanne Drew on September 26, 1992, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was a hardworking man dedicating many years at Fisher Control before retiring in 1994. Fred was a proud member of the UAW, Our Savior Lutheran Church and American Legion. He had a passion for fishing, auctioneering and spending time in his garden or just being outdoors. Freds biggest passion in his life was his family. Left to cherish Freds memory is his loving wife, Sue; children: Bill (Angie) Gould, Bob (Cindy) Gould, Brian (Chris) Gould, Cindy (Gary) Banzhaf and Steve (Linda) Drew; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings: Raymond Radar (Lorna) Gould and Chylena (Mack) German. He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Gladys; first wife: Barbara and one sister: Joyce.
