Fred Freddie M. Kail, 72, of State Center, died Monday, January 5th, at the MMSC. A memorial service is Saturday January ,17th at St Paul Lutheran Church in St Center at 11:00 am . There will be no visitation. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home West Marshall Chapel in State Center is caring for Fred and his family. Ph 641-483-2900. Born on June 21st, 1936, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Charles and Francis (Hazen) Kail. He received his education in Des Moines. On April 5th, 1985, he was united in marriage to LaLoni Wolken in Marshalltown. They made their home Marshalltown and later State Center. Mr. Kail was employed at Banzhaf Roofing and KIOWA Corporation. Fred was known as someone who enjoyed helping others, making others happy, loved his family, and was an all around nice guy. He enjoyed playing jokes on people and continuously had a great sense of humor. Left to treasure his memory are LaLoni, his loving wife of 23 years, children: Bambi (Kenny) Slingluff of St. Anthony, Penny Kail of Tama, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, his mother-in-law Bonnie Wolken-Kunch (Gene) of State Center, his siblings: Jim Brown, Phil (Gloria) Brown, Kathy Bovee, Shirley McSwaim, Bev Towlerton and Danny (Jackie) Brown as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents and daughter, Gail Cole.
