Fred retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad where he was a car inspector. He enjoyed feeding and caring for his goldfish in his beautifully landscaped backyard pond that he dug himself. Fred loved watching the birds and other wildlife that were drawn to this backyard oasis he had created. Fred had many hobbies in his lifetime. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed walleye fishing, woodworking, HAM radios, breeding dogs and tropical fish in his earlier years, and loved to spoil his Cavachon puppy, “Jenna”. Fred developed a passion for BBQ and became a master at the art of smoking meat. He took great pride and delight in sharing his talent for BBQ with all of us.
