Fred Troutner, 68, of Marshalltown, died at his residence on Saturday, July 24, 2010, while in the loving care of his family and Iowa River Hospice. Per Freds wishes, following cremation, no services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed in Freds name to the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown, Iowa. For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com Fred was born July 9, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Roy C. Troutner and O. Marie (Farmer) Troutner. He was raised and educated in Gilman, Iowa and graduated from the Gilman High School in 1961. Following graduation, Fred was employed by Fisher Governors in Marshalltown for several years before moving on to the Northrop Corporation in Skokie, Illinois. During his time with Northrop Corporation Fred helped with the developmental stages of the black boxes data recorders. Fred retired from Northrop Corporation and returned home to Gilman to care for his mother during her final days. Upon retirement, Fred spent his later years in Bullhead City, Arizona, where he was an avid card player. Fred especially enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em. Throughout the past several months Fred became ill and returned back home to spend his final days in the care of his loving sister Beverly and her husband Duane in Marshalltown. Fred was a member of the Set Free Brotherhood Ministry in Bullhead City, Arizona. Fred is survived by his sister Beverly (Duane) Bartlett or Marshalltown, his nephew Kurt(Lisa) Bartlett of Skokie, Illinois and their daughter Breanna Lynn Bartlett. Fred was preceded in death by his parents.
