G. Maxine Robinett, 92, of Marshalltown, died early Thursday morning, July 10th, at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. A memorial fund is being established. Born Genevieve Maxine Waddell on August 29th, 1915, in Gifford, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alfred and Minnie Augusta (Wentworth) Waddell. She graduated 8th grade from Abbott School in Marshalltown and was gifted in teaching arithmetic to others. On September 5th, 1936, in Newton, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Nelson LeRoy Robinett. They lived in Marshalltown and celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1986. For many years, Maxine worked at the Marshalltown Medical Clinic and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Helping Hands, Blue Star Mothers, and the Central Iowa Ornithologists. She was an excellent seamstress, quilter and cook. She did lots of canning, babysitting and was a homemaker, gardener and organizer of family reunions. Left to celebrate her life are her two sons: Robert L. (Judith) Robinette and Jerry R. (Cindy) Robinett, her daughter Betty M. (Ronald) Gauch; grandchildren: Angela, Anthony and Tyler Robinette, Dawn Johnson and Scott and Suzanne Gauch; and great-grandchildren: Cole A. and Connor R. Gauch, Dylan, Dakota, Devin and Jaydon Johnson. In death she has rejoined her beloved Roy who died Christmas Day of 1986, two grandsons: Robbie and Michael Robinette, her parents, three sisters: Alice, Eleanore and Johan and three brothers: John, Fredrick and Bill.
