Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Garrah and her family. Garrah Howard was born on March 20, 1927, in Gifford, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ross and Gladys (Jones) Howard. She was raised and educated in the Union school district graduating from Union High School. After high school she worked at the Gifford grocery/service station. This is where she met a couple of those "good lookin" Pippin brothers that were home on leave from WWII, which would later prove to be her destiny. On October 26, 1948, Garrah was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Pippin, in Union, Iowa. They were only married a year before Eugene was sent off to serve our country in the Korean War. After he safely returned, the couple raised three children, Terry, Sherri and Robb. Garrah was a hardworking woman dedicating many of her years taking care of and raising children in her own home while running her own daycare. She loved her daycare children as much as her own. She had a passion for her family, rustic relics, gardening, flowers, owls and rooster figurines. She also was very proud to be a farmers daughter who was born in Iowa. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Pippin, Sherri (Nick) Grossman and Robb (Jackie) Pippin; grandchildren: Jeraco (Justin) Whitaker, Gabe (Iris) Grossman, Jacob Pippin and Sarah Pippin; and great-grandchild, Aidra Whitaker. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Dean Howard.
