Garry Joe Courtney, 71, of the Iowa Veteran Home in Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences or questions, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Garry and his family. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter: Jill (Sam) Massey of Arkansas; his grandchild: Raynee; his siblings: Thelma Marie, Guy Robert, Richard Lee, Mary Beth, Linda Kay, and Carol Sue; and his many nieces and nephews.
