Gary T. Coleman

Gary T. Coleman, 47, of rural State Center, died Friday, June 4, 2010. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Burial will be at Albion Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family. Gary Thomas Coleman was born on November 4, 1962, in Eldora, Iowa. He was the son of Bernie and Alice (Wilson) Coleman. Gary graduated from West Marshall High School. He had lived in the State Center area all of his life. Gary was employed at Ball Corporation in Ames. He also worked part-time washing windows in homes and buildings. He enjoyed farming, being outside, hunting deer and pheasant, and keeping busy. Surviving Gary are his son Derek Coleman; his daughter Cassandra Coleman; his parents Don and Alice Day of Marshalltown; his siblings David (Joyce) Coleman, Dan (Ruth) Coleman, Harold Coleman, Elizabeth Coleman, Mark Day, Paul (Bonita) Day, Julie Day, and Jodi (Mark) Hofer; and several nieces and nephews. In death he rejoins his grandparents, his brother Scott Day, and his father Bernie Coleman.
