Gary Dannen

Gary Dannen, 65, of Marshalltown passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6:00 until service time on Saturday. He was the son of Harold and Vola (Adams) Dannen. Gary attended school in the Melbourne and State Center School Districts. On March 24, 1967, Gary was united in marriage to Carol Thompson at the Salvation Army in Marshalltown and they lived their entire married lives in Marshalltown. Gary worked for Cooper Manufacturing (Inter Face) and retired after 47 years of employment. He always enjoyed bowling and in later years watched his grandchildren bowl. Gary always had time for his children and grandchildren. He worked on restoring the 69 Chevelle and stock cars with his son Aaron, loved to fish with his family, enjoyed his yard and flowers and he loved to be busy. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Carol of Marshalltown. Children: Aaron (Nikki) Dannen of Marshalltown and Shelley Bug Dannen of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Mandy, Breanna, Justice, Hunter, Josie and Sydney, Sister: Sharon (Duane) Klosterman of Eldora, Iowa In death Gary rejoins his parents, Harold and Vola and a son, Jeffrey Dannen.
