Gary Roger Forney

Gary Roger Forney, 78, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Gary Forney was born on July 7, 1946 in Illinois. He was the son of Norman and Gertrude Forney. Gary graduated from La Salle High School in Illinois in 1963. Gary was united in marriage to Jean Sample in 1988 in Colorado. They moved to Marshalltown three years ago. Gary served his country honorably in the United States Army. He had worked as an engineer at Mountain Bell and US West Phone Companies. Gary was a member of the Sun Valley Corvette Club and a Harley- Davidson group. He loved classic cars and anything with a motor as well as bowling and woodworking.

Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years: Jean; children: Heath of Colorado and Heidi of Missouri; niece: Trisha, and many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Gertrude; brother: Greg and numerous aunts and uncles.
