Gary L. Goettsch, 81, of Brooklyn, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in the comfort of his own home.   Memorial services for Gary will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Gary and his family.   Gary LeRoy Goettsch was born on November 26, 1937 in a farmhouse north of Beaman to Gilman and Martha Koch Goettsch. He graduated from Beaman High School in 1956. Gary had worked as an inspector for Fisher Control from 1957 until his retirement in 1993. Gary was united in marriage to Delores Reisinger in 1992 at Green Castle Lake in Ferguson and they later moved to Holiday Lake in 1995. Gary had been a member of the NRA, Moose Lodge and was a Steward at the UAW. He enjoyed traveling around northeastern Iowa, shooting his muzzleloaders, hunting, fishing, NASCAR and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes and St Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed classic cars and owned a 1949 Buick and Thunderbird and also enjoyed music, as it was a big part of his life. Gary played guitar and had an excellent voice and was a member of the Westerntones which was a country western band.   Gary is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Delores. Children: Terri (Tim) Wingert of San Antonio, Texas, Mark (Carla) Goettsch of Gladbrook and Angela (Kirk Paterson) Goettsch of Waterloo. Step children: Rene (Aaron) Wiegand of Brooklyn and Annette (Curt) Corwin of Marshalltown. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and siblings: Gilda (Don) Specht of Fort Collins, Colorado and Joel (Kathy) Goettsch of New Virginia and sister in law Sherri Goettsch of Hollister, Missouri.   Gary is preceded in death by his parents Gilman and Martha and brother Monte Goettsch.
