Gary Shollenbarger

Gary Lee Shollenbarger, 70, of Beaman, passed away the morning of Thursday, December 28, 2017 with his family while under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Cremation rites have been accorded and per his wishes there will no formal services. Memorials may be directed to the family. Gary was born on December 3, 1947 in Marshalltown to Gerald and Evelyn “Peg” Shollenbarger. Gary graduated from Marshalltown High School then attended Iowa State University. He served his country in the United States Army from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1971. On October 26, 1968, Gary was united in marriage to Diane Wirstlin.  He worked for UPS retiring in 2003. Gary is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane. Children: Kellie (Dave) Hala of Marshalltown, Brandi (Shawn) Morris of Beaman and his grandson, Cole Morris.  He is also survived by his siblings: Linda Eggleston, Susan Heil and Nicki (Ron) Ridout as well as his mother Peg all of Marshalltown. Gary is preceded in death by his father Gerald and sister Peggy Shollenbarger.
