Gavin A. Mcturk

Gavin McTurk, 79, of Gladbrook, died early Monday morning, March 12, at the MMSC in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the service time. Born on September 13, 1932, in Gladbrook, he was the son of Gavin and Theresa (Fedderson) McTurk. He graduated from the Gladbrook High School and soon after served our country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Gavin was a truck driver, most recently with Westside Trucking and previously Jacobson Trucking in Des Moines. In 1980, he was united in marriage to Ella May (Tade) Neff. To this union, the two families were formed. They include his three children: CandiceArndt McTurk, Mark McTurk and Mike McTurk, all of Arizonaand her children: Marcee Wright (Mike Baumeier) of Gladbrook and Lacy Neff in Montana, 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren,his cousin Rodney and many friends. In death, he rejoined his parents and brother, William Bill.
