Gene Cummins, 65, of Whitten, Iowa, passed away in the comfort of his own home on the morning of July 1, 2023.

Gene Bryant Cummins was born November 5, 1957 to parents Bill and Helen (Eales) Cummins in Anamosa, Iowa. He grew up along with his three brothers in Springville, Iowa. Gene received his education from Hawkeye Community College in Diesel Technology.
On August 20, 1988, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carla McAllister at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their union, they resided in Springville, Iowa for the first couple of years before moving to Whitten, Iowa where they have called home since. Gene was the father of eight children. He worked for many years as a truck driver before owning his own company, RBK Trucking. He was active with the Eldora Masonic Lodge and served on the Whitten Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time, Gene loved to go hunting, fishing, spend time grilling, watching old western and military shows, and listening to Todd Sterns on the radio.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Cummins; his children, Shawn Cummins, Damian (Teri) Cummins, Devoni Cummins, Rachel Cummins, Bryant (Kelsey) Cummins, Kristin (Ronnie) Haines, and Sattin Cummins; his grandchildren, Austin, Shawn Jr., Alexis, James, Connor, Jayden, Abri, Courtney, Chase, Emma, Eli, Zadien, Hunter, Miranda, Trinity, Alex, Christian, and Phenix; three great-grandchildren, Zariah, Zacari, and Mahina; his siblings, Burl (Ruth) Cummins, Harry (Priscilla) Cummins, and Vern (Marilyn) Cummins; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Billie Jo Cummins; and his parents Bill and Helen Cummins.
