Gene K. Sharpe, age 61, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

Per Gene and his family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no formal services have been scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation. Born on January 1, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, Gene Kelley Sharpe was the beloved son of Alfred Nelson and Anne Marie (Masters) Sharpe. He graduated from West High School in Arizona. In time, Gene moved to Marshalltown, where he found a community, he loved and a place he proudly called home. He spent his working years as a parts delivery driver for Karl’s Chevrolet in Ankeny, Iowa, where he was appreciated for his dedication and kindness. In his free time, Gene enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He also loved spending quiet days fishing and listening to audiobooks.

Gene is survived by his life partner, Tina; his children: James Sharpe, Ashley Sharpe, Josh (Tikki) Humphrey, Faide Sharpe, and Finny Albright; his grandchildren: Jonathan Humphrey and Kora Bowen; his siblings: Dean Sharpe, Andi Coffee, Johnny Sharpe, David Sharpe, Randy Sharpe, Bobby Sharpe, and Lorrie Brewer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Anne.
