George Rumbaugh

George J. Rumbaugh , 71, of Baxter, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Greencastle Cemetery in Jasper County. There will be no visitation. He was the son of George William and Elma Ruth (Sharp) Rumbaugh. George attended and graduated from Mingo High School graduating with the class of 1960. He then attended Drake University and The National Language Institute in Monterey, California. George served our country honorably in the United States Army in the National Security Administration his entire working career. George enjoyed the news and all current events, politics, Corvettes and yard sales. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Sallie (Norman) Ballantine of Vermont. Nephews: Stuart Dean Fricke and Lorne Gene Fricke and Niece: Parke G. Ballantine. In death George rejoins his parents, George and Elma, and sister, Judy Kay Fricke.
