George R. Skidmore, 92, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died there May 14th. Funeral services were held with the Hamiltons Funeral Home in Des Moines. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for local arrangements. George was born on August 4th, 1915, in Chariton, Iowa, and called the IVH home since May of 1987. He served our country honorably in the United States Army in WWII. Survivors include a niece, Judy McClasky of Des Moines and his IVH family.
