Born Georgia Lou Rodgers on February 24, 1934 in Ralls, Texas, she was the daughter of Carl and Hester (Wright) Rodgers.  When she was young, her family relocated to Riverside, California, where she graduated from Riverside Poly Technic High School in 1952. It was in Riverside where she met Gilbert “Gib” Beye, who was stationed at March Air Force Base. After falling in love, they were united in marriage on April 3, 1954. In January 1955, Gib and Georgia moved to rural Haverhill, where they lived their entire married life before Gib’s passing in 2015.   Georgia stayed at home with their two children for several years. She then worked as a secretary at the SEMCO school district, then managed Bobby Rogers retail and finally worked at The Chalet downtown Marshalltown. Over the years, she volunteered with 4H and the Marshall County Historical Society. She was a longtime member of the United Church of Christ in Van Cleave and most recently attended New Hope Church in Marshalltown.   Georgia was an avid bear collector, amassing several hundred bears over the years, from figurines to large stuffed teddies. She also loved musicals, cats and Christmas. Georgia will be fondly remembered by her family for her strong will, positive outlook, excellent cooking and baking skills and her ability to have fun.  She deeply loved and cherished her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.  Left to cherish her memory is her son, Kevin (Cindy) Beye of rural Haverhill; daughter, Tracey (Phill) Stowe of Los Lunas, New Mexico; 2 grandchildren: Matthew Beye of Knoxville, Iowa and Anna (Tanner) Heinrichs of Bondurant, Iowa and her sister-in-law, Margaret ( Delmar) Tigges of Des Moines, Iowa.   In death, Georgia rejoins her husband of 61 years, Gib; her parents: Carl and Hester; 2 sisters: Del and Billie; granddaughter, Theresa Beye and daughter-in-law, Doreen Beye.
