Gerald Bud Ewalt, 61, of State Center, died late Thursday night, April 7, at the MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Immediately following, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments with the family prior to the funeral procession leaving for the Liscomb Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234.Born on April 22, 1949, in Marshalltown, he was the son of H. Ronald and Mildred Arlene (Robinson) Ewalt. He attended school in Liscomb, Green Mountain and Conrad, graduating from the Conrad High School. Bud farmed all of his life and enjoyed being the community mechanic. He loved helping out others, no matter what time of the day. He will be fondly remembered for his skills as a craftsman on the farm, his passion for farming, sense of humor, and love of his family.Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Lavonne (Duane) Zimmerman of Urbandale, Faye (Donnie) Zimmerman of Stratford, Wisconsin, Helen (Allen) Tysma of East Moline, IL. and Arlene (Don) Nehring of Kellogg, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In death, he rejoined his parents and brother Bob (Jane) who died in 1985.
