Gilbert "Gib" Brown

Gilbert “Gib” Brown, 71, of Albion, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at UnityPoint Health of Marshalltown.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Gilbert Lee Brown was born in Eldora, Iowa on December 9, 1946; he was the son of Arthur and Jessie (Holladay) Brown. He attended school in the New Providence Community School District graduating with the class of 1965. Gilbert loved to do body work to cars, he worked at Clemons Chevrolet in Marshalltown as a body man for several years. He enjoyed the cars that he owned and refurbished. For a number of years he took care of his mother so she could stay home until she passed. Gilbert is survived by his children, Michael (Allison) Cole of Eldora, Iowa and Jeramy Brown of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Tyler, Keygan, Dylan, Gwen and Willow; siblings, Shirley Sizemore of Kirksville, Missouri, Herschell Brown of LaMoille, Iowa, Shirley Sizemore of Kirksville, Missouri and Gearld (Kate) Brown of Whitten, Iowa. In death Gib rejoins his parents, Arthur and Jessie Brown, and siblings, Juanita Duncan, Chester Brown, and Gaylord Brown.
