Gladys Cook

Gladys Cook, 90, of Marshalltown, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to services. Phone 641-844-1234 Born Gladys Howell on September 20th, 1924, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Thurman and Clara (Hittenmark) Howell. She received her education in the area of her birth. In 1939, she was united in marriage to Clark Cook in Lancaster, Missouri. They made their home in Marshalltown where she was employed at Fisher Controls for many years. Gladys was a faithful member of the Central Christian Church, the U.A.W. Local #893 Retirees, the Fisher 25 Year Club and the Moose Lodge. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters- Jeannie Garrington of Marshalltown, Iowa and Joanne Speer of Marshalltown, Iowa; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild on the way. In death, Gladys rejoined her beloved Clark Swede and her parents.
